SUMMARY:  I spent 2,5 DAYS at MWC  Total outcome: 12 MEETINGS  AND 17 COMPANIES REVIEWS

I work at R&D department for a media company so my impressions will be related to this matter

1-RISE OF HTML5 FOR APPS AND VIDEO PRODUCTION

Adobe Presented their new video management suite PRIMETIME based in H264 and HTMl5 video player not flash, video editing , and integrated video adserver. Surprinsingly No product demo avalaible at MWC but contatcs and demo access will be forwarded

MOBILTECH: Swedish company Optimizes and render HTML5  content distribution great service for html5 publishing since device integration is still a mess

INTEL:  promoted theis recently launched app store based in HTML5

We meet with Intel Responsable for Latam partnership relations dealing with actual press products ( yes we are working for them adapting our products)

Intel will heavily invest on offering a multimedia experience on their apps upp (app store on pc dashboard) so video apps are of high interest

2- BROADCAST VIDEO WILL GO LOWER COST FOR MOBILE PRODUCTION

VIZARTI presented Realtime  mobile video production for on location ENG video mobile gathering and  3d real time live low cost convesion from 2d video assets (great  for video new achives and sport)

 3- ANDROID WILL BE THE MOBILE PLATTFORM THAT COMPITE WITH IOS ( GOOGLE TV HAS A BIG CHANCE FOR A COMEBACK?

China manufactures android adoption as mass consumer Smartphone prodyuction and the sparkling developers community will show a fearless competitor to Apple

As a Media company with more than 5 million apps donmwloaded our average traffic is 20% form android devices against IOS but this trend is definetely

4- AUDIO FINGERTIPS ARE DRIVING 2ND SCREEN SYNCRONISED APPS

SHAZAM (audio recognition and fingertip technology) for second screen experiences Shazam TV

Shazam already achieve 190 million users 5% in spain 10% in latam

 5-RECOMMENDATION ENGINES WILL LEAD THE MULTIMEDIA CONTENT DISCOVERY

STAMBLE UPON: Usa startup developed an app (android and ios 20 million users)  acts as recommendation engine for multimedia  content

6-SOCIAL AGGREGATORS WILL COMPITE WITH CONTENT PRODUCERS

ONE LOUDER www.onelouder.com Android app  Integrate data sports, music reviews with twitter filtered conversation for content ( interesting for our sport asset and 2nd screen )

LIFE VIbES a social Tv solution

7-NEW PLAYERS INTO OTT WILL ARISE

Opera Presented their OTT store and interface, interested on getting spanish content

8- IN SEARCH OF INMERSIVE MULTIMEDIA EXPERIENCES: AUGMENTED REALITY SOLUTIONS

 (interesting for educational projects and second screen  enhanced experiences)

This new solutions are very robust based in andriod and IOs will be used by TV and ad agencies for enhanced 2nd screen experiences

STRING Uk based production company (high quality images and robust integration)

AR STUDIO (spanish company partners with israelí tech) will meet in Madrid

9- MOBILE AND TV  APP PRODUCTION INTEGRATION INTO SINGLE PLATTFORM

We also meet BRIGTHCOVE (with very cheap stand),  their presented an app developer solution that will integrate in the future mobile and Tv app developments

10- BIG  OPERATORS AND COMPANIES are investing not to lose pace on the new digital multimedia production environment

ERICSSON showed us their costly  OTT and video management solutions

MICROSOFT is investion in app production   Window phone developers area (elpais) and Xbox media offering developed in Silverligth (remenber this?)

I will make a last statement asking  why diffrenciate CES and MWC? Content distibution will use tablets and TV so ther classical separation on manufactures brands does not make sense and will be overcome in recent years
